She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She devoted time to volunteering at the New York Foundling Hospital and other causes.

She loved to entertain family and friends and was a partner /copilot with her husband, George, who was an accomplished aviator. Together they traveled around the United States and the Caribbean.

Sophie passed one day short of her 101st birthday.
