Mission

The Friends of 海角社区 is an organization founded in 1973 to expand communications and foster greater understanding between Ramapo and neighboring communities聽by sharing the College’s cultural and educational resources, while raising scholarship money. Neighbors are introduced to Ramapo鈥檚 strategic goals and culture and are invited to become active members of the College community.

Throughout its long history, the Friends of 海角社区 have annually awarded scholarships to Ramapo eligible students. Funded from annual membership fees and proceeds from Friends of 海角社区 events and fundraisers, these scholarships help students reach their greatest potential.聽聽To date, the Friends of 海角社区 have awarded close to 350 scholarships valued at $500,000 to Ramapo students.

Membership

There are so many reasons to join the Friends of 海角社区 and there are two options for those interested in joining, each with numerous benefits:

Friends 鈥淧lus鈥� Membership 鈥撀�$150 per year

General Membership聽鈥撀�$60 per year

All members are encouraged to attend lectures, films, concerts, as well as other events and, to take advantage of the many resources in the Learning Commons. But, one of the best benefits of a Friends Plus Membership is the ability to audit up to three courses per year tuition free.

Friends 鈥淧lus鈥� Membership 鈥撀�$150 per year

General Membership聽鈥撀�$60 per year

Benefits of 鈥淧lus鈥� Membership

  • Friends of 海角社区 PLUS members receive a tuition waiver to audit THREE (3) courses per year.
    Details:

    • Members may audit one undergraduate level course in the Fall and Spring semesters and one Summer Session course, including online courses (as part or all of the three courses)
    • Participation is on a space-available basis. When checking course availability, there must be at least one seat available to audit the class
    • Certain courses may be excluded
    • No transcript is maintained
    • Books and course fees are the individual鈥檚 responsibility
    • All fees are non-refundable once paid

  • Advance notice of special Friends of 海角社区 events and activities
  • Hang Tag for On-Campus Parking
  • Members are eligible to purchase a discounted membership to the Bill Bradley Sports and Recreation Center
  • Use of the College Library and our New Learning Commons

2)聽 Mail your completed application with a check for either $150 or $60 payable to Ramapo Foundation to:

Currently enrolled students are not eligible for membership in the Friends of 海角社区.

Membership in the Friends of 海角社区 is a privilege and it may be withdrawn for violations of College policies or procedures
