The Academic Review Committee (ARC) is a standing committee of the Faculty Assembly that offers guidance to faculty about curricular matters, and then reviews their proposals before moving them along in the curriculum review process. ARC primarily considers proposals for new and revised courses and academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, whether they are credit bearing or not. Academic programs include, but are not limited to: undergraduate majors, minors, and certificates; 4+1 programs; and graduate degree programs.

ARC is governed by the bylaws of the Faculty Assembly, of which it is a standing committee; it is also beholden to official college policies, as applicable.

Per our ARC Manual, last updated in spring 2026 (PDF), in 2026-27, ARC will continue to accept applications in the CourseDog platform on a rolling basis. ARC will work with other key stakeholders to move proposals through the curriculum review process in a timely manner. The later in the year that faculty submit applications, however, the less likely they are to be included in the Ramapo Catalog for the following academic year. To give your application the best chance of being included in the 2027-2028 Ramapo Catalog, we suggest submitting applications on CourseDog by October 15, 2026 to allow proposals as much time as possible to complete the various stages of the curriculum review process.

Here is a Summary of the 2026-27 ARC Application Process.

Before filling out your 2026-27 ARC application, you must do the following:

After completing the steps above, here is how to complete your ARC application(s):

Questions?
